Thanks Sue for your input but I have tried those places you mentioned sometime in the last 25 years I have been searching and I have got nowhere. Even the information in my father’s (John Charles Corkhill Jnr) letter has not proved overly helpful as I also can’t find anything on Capt. Richard Blake Corkhill from Whitehaven prior to his marriage in Sydney in 1846 and he did Captain a ship the Perseverance that came to Australia several times from around 1837. He is the one stated by my father as being related to William Corkhill (2nd G Grandfather). Thanks for your help anyway and if you can think of any other alternatives then please don’t hesitate to let me know.
