Once again, many thanks for your reply. I have, just half an hour ago, sent off for the Birth Certificate and Marriage Certificate for Joseph.

I am sure that he did not have a middle name and think that we can discount 'Joseph Edward'.

I am certain that he married Mary Kilpatrick. I have her death certificate which states that she was Mary Corkhill, 'the wife of Joseph Corkhill, builders labourer'. The informant was Emma Kilpatrick, mother.

I would like to contact you again when the certificates arrive and will be pleased to hear from you if you have any instructions in the meantime.
