In the 1841 census they also sometimes rounded children's ages up, especially when they were aged between 15 and 20.

In the 1851 Braddan census, Ballaughtin, John Kermode was 25, a Miller's cartman, b.Malew, and wife Isabella 26 b.German. So the ages were not much different from the ones given at marriage (according to the IGI). With them were sons John 2 & George 1, both born Braddan, and Ann Morrison visitor U 22 House servant b.Arbory.

In 1861 nephew John Kermode 12, nephew George K 11, and niece Jane M. K, 9, all b.Douglas were at 2 Castle St., Douglas with Jane Joughin unm 21 Shop Keeper b.Peel as Head of household.
