Hi Frances, by 'undercover church' I meant those places where priests were smuggled in to give mass. My gg.grandad was Patrick Maxwell, College Street, Ramsey who before 1863 used his cottage for such a purpose. He married Cecilia Collins and there is reference (A Manx Note Book) to two priests by the name of Collins who came to the IOM to give mass. I think that they may be connected to my family but can't find the evidence. Diane
