Diane, it would be clearer for other people if you "respond" to your previous thread under Subject: John Cain, rather than starting a new one. Then they can see what has already been looked up for you, and also what you have found - rather than starting again from scratch.

In your previous thread didn't you say that his marriage cert gave John's father's name as Edward with occupation 'general labourer'? And that it was John who was the quarryman?
