Hi Donna, the 1901 census showed Sarah, John Caine's wife as being 'married' but I couldn't find John, my g.grandad. His age on his marriage certificate indicated that he had been born in 1853 with a father named John. There were three John Caines born on the IOM that year all of them with a father called John. The 1911 census showed Sarah Maxwell and John Caine living together in Douglas, his year of birth as 1847. That year only one John Caine with a father also John. The names of his siblings matched those of g.aunts and g.uncles. Yes, he married Elizabeth Creech and knowing this I have been able to take the family back a couple of generations. Thanks again, Diane
