Re: CREE(T)CH John Cain(e) 1852
In Response To: Re: John Cain(e) 1852 ()

Hi Donna,

Creech was one of Brian Lawson's interests (and mine). This is from a 2003 file of his, so may have been added to/corrected/updated. Ian hasn't put BL's two Creech files on his website yet.
It will lose its formatting on here:

The Children of William Creech & Jane Quinney
continued from 1.34.2 and 1.34.2.1

Number & Name Type & Birthdate Place/Notes
4874 Elizabeth B 24th Mar 1819 Santan
4875 William B 10th Jun 1821 Santan
4876 Jane B 4th Apr 1824 Santan
4877 Daniel B 12th Nov 1826 Santan

Elizabeth Creetch (4874) was baptized on the 24th of March, 1819, at Santan. In
1841 she was living with her parents at Summery Vale, Santan. She married John
Cain on the 4th of June, 1842, at Santan. Their daughter, Jane, was born in Santan
and baptized on the 20th of November, 1842. In 1851 she was living with her
husband on his farm at Lonan.

John Cain (5258) was born ca 1818. He married Elizabeth Creetch on the 20th
of November, 1842. In 1851 he and his wife were farming at Ballacojean, Lonan,
though their daughter was living with her grand-parents at Santan.

Jane Cain was baptized on the 20th of November, 1842, at Santan. In 1851 she
was living with her grand-parents at Santan.

William Creetch (4875) was baptized on the 10th of June, 1821, at Santan. In
1841 he appears to be living with and working for William Quine, saddler, at
Glenbraugh, Santan. He married Catherine Moore on the 25th of January, 1844, at
Arbory. In 1851¡V81, a labourer, he was living with his family at Douglas Street,
Castletown. The 1871 census gives his occupation as drayman and the 1881 census
as agricultural labourer. He died before the census of 1891 but a burial has not yet
been located.

Catherine Moore (4878) was born ca 1822 at Castletown. She married William
Creech on the 25th of January, 1844, at Arbory. In 1891, a widow, she was living
at 2, Parliament Lane, Castletown, with her unmarried daughter, Margaret, and a
grand–daughter, Mary Jane Smith, aged 12, from Liverpool. The published burial
register for Malew shows a burial for Catherine Creetch aged 76 on the 13th of April,
1888. This is possibly a mistake for 1898 - to be checked.

Jane Creetch (4876) was baptized on the 4th of April, 1824, at Santan. In 1841
she was living with her parents at Summery Vale, Santan. She married William
Morrison on the 2nd of April, 1850, at Santan. In 1851 she and her family were
living with her parents at Harbour Road, Santan. In 1861 she and her family were
living with her widowered father at Glenganaugh, Santan. See 1.37 for details of
her descendants.

William Morrison (4879) was born ca 1832 at Ballaugh. An agricultural
labourer, he married Jane Creetch on the 2nd of April, 1850, at Santan. See 1.37 for
details of his descendants.

Daniel Creetch (4877) was baptized on the 12th of November, 1826, at Santan.
In 1841 he was living with his parents at Sumery Vale, Santan. In 1851 he was
living with his parents at Harbour Road, Santan. He married Jane Collister on the
24th of November, 1853, at Santan. In 1861 he was living with his family at Cronk,
Santan. Neither he nor his wife are found in the 1871 census but their two children
are living with the Callister grand–parents. See 1.38 for details of his descendants.

Jane Callister (4880) was baptized on the 11th of March, 1832, at Santan, the
daughter of John Callister & Elizabeth Clague. She married Daniel Creech on the
24th of November, 1853, at Santan.
