My family name is Cain and are from the IOM. Although I have nothing concrete for you as in records etc. I do have some links that have not been verified but I know that my family came from the PATRICK PARISH area of the island starting with ADAM 1726, his son Patrick married Eleanor Cubbon, I THINK one of their family married a Gelling, I know also that there is a link between the Kermode family (John Leece-Kermode and wife Margaret of Halfway House Peel road IOM)and the Cain's.I believe one of the Cain family married a Costain and lived in Liverpool, the Costain's are well known in the NW of England so Liverpool might be a good place to start you search, sorry I can not confirm much of this,I am sure the connection is there but it's a long journey.Good luck
