Re: images from parish registers

a new act regulating registration of births/baptisms came into force in 1847 based strongly on the English act of 1837 - some vicars adopted the now standardised English registration books pre 1847 others like Braddan would appear to have kept the old 'informal' style until forced to buy a new register (as in case of Braddan which gave little additional info) The Vicar in 1838 was Rev Robt Brown (father of T E Brown) - apparently his eyesight failied around this time, he seems to have been somewhat informal in many things eg no observation of major feasts, saints days etc - his parishioners gave him a cow as a Xmas present as he refused to charge for opening graves!.
