Denise, the Elizabeth Gelling who married John Caveen 25 Mar 1837 Braddan (who you said was your last Gelling) was the daughter of Edward Gelling & John Bell. She was bapt 8 Nov 1812 St George Douglas. She died in Liverpool Dec Quarter of 1851, and John Caveen then married Elizabeth Lewin Dec quarter 1852 Liverpool. Children of the first marriage were John & Robert born IOM, Isabella, Alice, Elizabeth, Jane & Maria (died inf same day as her mother) born Liverpool. I don't think there were any children for the second marriage. Which one do you descend from?

Edward Gelling was the 2nd son of John Gelling & Elizabeth Oates of Ballamillaghyn Braddan. His wife died 1824 and he died 1827 leaving 2 young children Elizabeth 1812-1851 & Edward.1816-1879. It looks like Edw Jr lived very close to his grandparents at Ballaugh Kirk German in their latter years.

The descent backwards is Elizabeth 1812, Edward 1790 & Jane Bell, John 1764 & Eliz Oates, John 1740 & Marg't Quilliam, John 1722 & Cath Killey, John 1690 & Ann Moore.
