I've been going through all these archived messages to see what I can add to my tree and I can see that we must be related through the Gelling line.
If I am correct you can trace your line back to John Gelling b.1722. Mine comes down through his brother William b. 1734 who married Catherine Cowley. They had John b. 1785 who married Elizabeth Oates and they had Edward b. 1790. He married Jane Bell and had Elizabeth b. 1812. My line comes down through her.
It'd be good to compare notes, even if done privately through personal email.
