Thanks Eric. Yes, I've come across that before, where the person notifying the death for the certificate even didn't really know the person's age. In the case of Isabella, I wondered if there actually was a difference in the noted age between the burial register and the MI, or is it an (easily made) error in Brian Lawson's index [GELLING, Isabella 89 Braddan 2 Feb 1856] or the MI transcription.
