Re: Manx Ancestry Centre

Hi,

I support everything that everyone has said. Just last year my daughter and husband visited the island to meet with relatives and friends made by me through the forum and researching the family. They had a list of things to see and do for me and I know that if I had asked them to try and fit in a trip to sit in front of a computer it wouldn't have happened.

I would think we all have family members who would visit the island because of research done by us. To visit farms, graves and recently discovered family members like my daughter did. This would not have happened had I not been able to research online and had the help of people of the island like Mary M and Liz.

Sometimes I can't believe how many hours I will sit in front of the computer researching. I would hate to spend those same hours in a room on the island missing out on seeing where our relatives lived. I think this computer research would be better done from home, and then the money spent travelling from Australia we could go and add to the islands economy by being tourists.
