MNH are beginning work first ,as I understand it on the original baptismal registers all parishes. Volunteers need good eyesight & neat,clear writing using a pencil.[I think a half day session is acceptable would be all that I would survive] The sheets filled in
here by local volunteers will then be digitised free by the folk in
Utah. The results should be much better than the IGI as Manx
people will cope better with local surnames & place names.
The MNH will not be putting the results online as apparently
our Government wishes to encourage "homecomers" to visit
& use facilities here. This only applies to records BEFORE civil registration.There are 3- one hour sessions next week for prospective volunteers who wish to think about helping.
