I had a wonderful reply, with details on the Corletts and how Stephen Looney tracked back through the generations, and then my hand hit the delete button, so it's lost.

Thank you for the preceding posts. The William Corlett in the MI was born 1816 and lived to 1912, and was the s/o Wm Corlett and Ann Cashin of Maughold. He's a different Corlett than the one mentioned earlier, which I think was of Lezayre.

His daughter Ann Eliza Corlett b 1862 married Stephen Looney 1889. Stephen (1862-1922) was son of Edward (Ned) Looney & Margaret Casement, md 1852. Edward (1808-1868) was s/o John Looney & Elinor Callister, md 1806. They made the 1841 census and work back to c1785.

I had 3 choices for John Looney:
12 Aug 1783 s/o Patrick Looney & Catharine Cowle.
29 Dec 1783 s/o Thomas Looney & Isabella Moore.
8 Jul 1781 s/o John Looney & Margaret Christian.

The first two (Patrick & Thomas) were brothers, sons of John Looney & Margaret Kelvie discussed greatly in this thread. I don't know the other couple.

That's the gist of my lost note, and shorter is probably better.
