William James son of John Kelly & Alice Kerruish was bapt at the Dhoon Church, Maughold, on 9 May 1875.
These are not my relatives - in that message you saw I was just helping out.
However, I do have transcripts of the original Maughold parish register, made by Tom Corteen (a cousin) who lived in Maughold.
This is their marriage record:
29 Jun 1871
John KELLY, Full age, Bachelor, Farmer, Skinscoe, Lonan, [father] Robert Kelly, Farmer, and
Alice Jane KERRUISH, Full age, Spinster, Cooil-Ard, Maughold, John Kerruish, Farmer.
The two place names were the names of the farms they came from.
As you can see, this records John Kelly as coming from Lonan, and Alice Jane Kerruish from Maughold, yet the 1881 census has their birth places the other way around.

John Robert the son of John Robert Kelly & Alice Jane was bapt in Maughold Parish Church on 11 Aug 1872.
Jane was baptised as the Illegit daur of Alice Jane Kerruish at Dhoon Church on 21 Mar 1870.
According to extracted birth entries on the IGI (from civil registration), all the younger children were registered in Lonan:

Civil birth registration didn't start in the IOM until 1878.
The IGI extracted record (from the parish register) has ALICE JANE KERRUISH
Christening: 20 NOV 1853 Lonan, Father: JOHN KERRUISH, Mother: ALICE KERMEEN.
So that 1911 census entry you spotted does indeed look like the same John Robert Kelly, widowed father of Eleanor Margaret Kinvig - what good luck that his details were filled in (then crossed out). His eight children are written above, and at aged 73 in 1911 he does look like John Robt bapt Maughold 15 July 1838 son of Robt KELLY & Elinr KNEALE.
He had put back his marriage date by a year, probably to legitimise his eldest daughter.

So Robert b.c.1807 was the son of Thomas Kelly b.Ballaugh
There was a Robert bapt Maughold 11 May 1806 son of Thomas Kelly and Ann Hogg, so I'll have to double-check that "Ballaugh" and see what else I can find.
