Re: 1901 census
In Response To: Re: 1901 census ()

Eleanor's second forename looks like "Margh". [Margaret?] Definitely not a u as is written in the index. The "r" is written the same as the one in Father [in law].

She had been married 4 years, no children.

Interestingly, these columns had also been filled in for her widowed father John Robt. Kelly aged 73, and then crossed through (because it was supposed to be filled in only for married women).
He had been married 41 years, with 8 children, and 6 still living. He was a retired farmer b.Maughold.
The census form was signed by Herbert Kinvig of 11 Falcon St., Douglas. The house had 7 rooms, not counting bathroom, landing, scullery, etc.

Father-in-law possibly John Robt bapt Maughold 15 July 1838 son of Robt KELLY & Elinr KNEALE.

The IGI has an extracted marriage for Herbert Kinvig and Eleanor Margaret Kelly (father John Robert Kelly) on 9 Nov.1907 Douglas.
