Re: Radcliffe

Hi Lois,
I didn't find John Radcliffe in the Ancestry 1871 census index (and still haven't), but now that he is found, you can locate the record by looking up John Quayle on Brian Lawson's census index for 1871:
Surname Forename Age Parish Piece Folio Schedule
QUAYLE John 82 Andreas 5772 195 64
www.iomfhs.im/lawsons/LawsonBMD/census/1871-census/c71-q.html

Please note that the last number is the schedule number, not the page no., so can't be used for the Ancestry index. Brian had him under John J or I would have found him sooner. I did a search through Andreas on Ancestry looking for Regaby.

- Just tried finding the entry again under the piece and folio numbers, but it doesn't work because Ancestry appears to have omitted the whole entry from their index (I found it again by putting in the first two numbers and date of birth 1851 plus or minus 2; two entries come up for Teare family sons of that age. Their schedule no. is 60, so I went to the next page to find 64). You can now find the page directly by putting in Robert Kneale b.1800 on the "1871 Isle of Man Census". He is at 1 Regaby Veg/Beg.
