Thanks Donna - I'd already guessed that, esther I think was their second daughter - their 1st born before 1 month before marriage was also Hester - Patience is a rather uncommon name but I could not find an easy match to Patience Quay thus I suspected any claimed link to the Christians had to be via the Taubman line - but not I suggest the one claimed.
Returning to Patience - they were married at Braddan 11 oct 1783 both of the parish witnesses parish clerk, edward oates + john kelly (not that unusual to have 3 witnesses especially in Parish clerk insists on being one) but I havn't linked these to her as yet.
Her last recorded child was in 1799 thus she was probably born 1755'sh at earliest and 1763 at latest (otherwise why no with consent at marriage) - there is however a John Quay + patience Cubbon with children in Braddan in this period married 1755 but 1st recorded child 1758 - I wonder if they could be parents?
