That there are links between English, Scots, Irish & Norse 'Royal' lines and some Manx families is not doubted - younger daughters need to be married off and 'noveau riche' merchant class suitors have the advantage of bringing money into the family. Quite why so many people, and judging from many posts over the years, Americans in particular, need to claim such very distant and usually from the distaff side or 'wrong side of blanket' (neither of which gives rights to any armorial bearings) defeats me

My criticism is generally aimed at the detailed linkage back to the 'royal' family - as discussed many times on these boards reliance on the IGI and matching names is a minefield of suprious and missing records. There is no complete Island wide BMD data prior to end of 18th Century! (eg missing registers in many parishes) - prior to this wills can provide a basis (but seldom give birth dates) but these only to c. 1600 and again survival is patchy - property records can supplement these but take one at best only as far as the early 16th C and generally nothing like that far
