Thanks for that information Wallace,I couldn't find a marriage for Elinor before William Craine,so can't explain the name Hinds.
On William Craine's death certificate in 1897 the informant is--Edward Craine stepson,while on Elinors death certificate in 1914 the informant is Edward J.Hinds--son.
Could explain why Edward left for New York in 1914.
