I wouldn't worry about the age being out a couple of years on the 1891 and 1901 census it often happens. That is your WH with the Lyalls but given earlier birth years. When WH joined the army he said he was 18 which would have made him born in 1884. He was 5 foot 7 so would have got away with looking older. He was actually 14 when he joined in 1902. There were a lot of underage soldiers who joined the army.
