More about Catherine Ann Sharpe who I believe was WH Lyall's mother. On the 1891 census she was a cook for the Bell family at 2 St Mary's Road, Huyton (near Liverpool). She had another illegitimate child in 1892. Edward Alma Sharpe was born on 25 Sep 1892 in Douglas, Isle of Man. A Family Search record includes the note: "Alma House, 29 Promenade". This appears to be a reference to a boarding house, Alma House, 29 Loch Promenade in Douglas. She was with the child in Liverpool in 1894 living at 3 Brenton Street Toxteth. The child must have been poorly as it appears a local RC priest baptised the child not long before he died. He died and was buried at Ford RC Cemetery near Liverpool in 1894. In 1897 she married a widower called Thomas Hazlehurst at St Paul's CE Church in Warrington and doesn't appear to have had any more children. She died in Warrington in 1924.
