Re: Manx Y-DNA Study
In Response To: Manx Y-DNA Study ()

Hi John,

Just tried to look at that suggested website, Manxdna, and got the following message:

"This Connection is Untrusted

"You have asked Firefox to connect securely to www.manxdna.co.uk, but we can't confirm that your connection is secure.

"Normally, when you try to connect securely, sites will present trusted identification to prove that you are going to the right place. However, this site's identity can't be verified.

"What Should I Do?

"If you usually connect to this site without problems, this error could mean that someone is trying to impersonate the site, and you shouldn't continue."

I'm not experienced enough computer-wise to know the importance/significance of this message, but have you come across this before, and how can I tell if it's OK to access?

I'm trying to find out more information about DNA testing as I would like to be able to pass on detailed straight-forward instructions to my older cousin, who is the last male descendant, this side of the Atlantic at least, of the Cavendish/Corjeag line. I would like to be able to persuade him to have the test as it would be fascinating to know the origin of the family.
