Hi Gary,

As you rightly spotted there are a couple of Cains (who believe they have Manx ancestry) and appear to be R1b>DF21 like yourself - and probably also Little Scottish Cluster members. This is unexpected as there is another significant group of Manx Cains whose haplogroup designation is significantly different from these - being R1a, presumably Viking. So there may be two distinct genetic strains/lines of Cains on the IOM or a very early NPE somewhere.
There is some degree of closeness between your results and those of the R1b Cains but it appears to be relatively old ca 1000AD.
As you and at least one of the R1b Cains are upgrading to 111 markers, we may in time be able to form a better view of any relationship.
I will see these 111 results when they arrive and will get back to you then.
