What a wonderful photograph! I do have a picture of Bolton Hall but just the building so to see the family is wonderful. My Great Grandmother was Esther and I wonder if she is the woman at the back next to the maids. My understaning from relatives in the Isle of Man is that James built Bolton Hall and some other hotels in Douglas but not sure if that is right.
I live in Shropshire so it's not too far to travel to Bolton. I have read part of the autobiography, that is the part about the American Civil War which my father photocopied from the Isle of Man Examiner which printed an article at the time of James' death. I understand that there is also reference to it in Bolton Museum.
I think I must have become a little muddled with John Tuck, I remembered after that he went to Winnepeg and his son George went from there to Antigua where I think his son,also George, still lives. If you know the names of any of the others in the photo, or if you have any others, it would be great to see them. I don't have any photos of the Pendlebury's.
