Thanks to Ancestry, I found out what happened to Jane Cain nee Redpath after John -the-gardener's death in 1873. Someone has a tree which includes Jane Redpath as a direct ancestor. This tree-submitter doesn't know about Jane Redpath's first marriage, though. However, I couldn't find a record of the marriage of Jane Cain to George Black, which must have been between 1874 and 1878 (see below)
