I'd looked at several possibilities from the English censuses for wives called Emily who'd been born circa 1832 in the IOM, but I made the mistake of not writing the information down at the time. I really should have recorded it and posted it into my first message. It wasn't until I felt that most of them had been eliminated that I suggested Emily Joughin as a possible wife for Edward Keig.

It would be lovely to find a definite solution to this. Pauline has found the missing marriage for an Emily Joughin in 1865, so now I'm going to try and find a likely year of birth for her ---- not so easy with a married name of Johns.
