Hello Averil

Yes that is Jane and her son and only child William she had with James.
It could be William's baptism, but as we have not yet established if he is the correct William , I have not gone back past William.
That is the correct James Edward for William and Jane Kermeen , they also had John Thomas ch 27/7/1862 , also in Lonan, but he is indexed as Kermeen , don't know why as William Collister and Jane Collister married 7/12/1861 in Lonan , she was widow , William's father was John a Farmer.
On 1871 census JT is Thomas and JE is Edward, then another son Robert who we cannot find birth details for , he is aged 0 , not sure what that means , they normally quote months for very young infants , does that mean he wasn't even 1 mth ?
I am doing this for Anne Dunning who posted October 23 , looking for the parents of John Edward Callister, from his MC he was born circa 1866 in Lonan , with father William.
The James Edward ch 20/11/1864 is the only one that fits between 1860 and 1870.

In the last week I found Alfred Ecallester and James Ecallester together on the 1891 census in Royton, Oldham Lancs. Handwriting shows it was James E Callister , with ditto for Alfred for surname. This is Anne's James Edward , as that is where he married in 1892. Alfred is shown born Ramsey, circa 1871/2.
Alfred married back on the IOM in 1894 , showing father William , making it look like they are brothers. Alfred died on the IOM in 1912, but I understand Civil IOM DC's do not show parents.

Like Robert we cannot find Alfred's birth/baptism details , and since they are both born Ramsey , as younger brother to James Edward , are they the same person ? And do we have the right parents for Anne's James Edward ?
I think we do have , but cannot prove it.
Any help would be appreciated

David
