My query is regarding John Looney after Rachel Redheads death 9 Sep 1872 at Seaview, McLaren Vale, South Australia. Records have a marriage of John Looney (75) to Sarah Alway als Strong (born 1815 and widow of Henry Alway from Somerset England) at the residence of John Morgan (brother in law) 30 Jun 1864. Later on there is a record of Sarah Cox Looney, daughter or adopted daughter (I don't know) of John Looney to Charles Andrew Michelmore on 12 Jun 1883 at McLaren Vale. I have been trying to find out who Sarah Cox Looney's father was. Her mother and "adopted" father married in Jun 1864, Sarah Cox Looney was born in 1864 Therefore her mother, Sarah Strong, must have been pregnant at the time of marriage (age 49). Why on earth would John Looney come to marry an already pregnant Sarah Strong at the age of 75? Does anyone have any ideas or information?
