I hope that this rather late addition to this correspondence does not confuse the issues. I believe that there were two John Looneys who are sometimes confused! One born c 1770; and the other born c.1777. They were both grandsons of John Looney and Margaret Kelvie. John born c.1777 was the son of Daniel Looney (1745-1826) & Isabel Cashin. This Daniel being the son of John L. & Margaret Kelvie. The second John Looney (1777-1810) was the son of John Looney and Margaret Hutchen. This John was Daniel's younger brother- So John 1770 & John 1777 were first cousins. John Looney 1777 was he who married Rachel Redhead c.1808 ( see IOMFHS magazine Nov. 2001). John Looney and Margaret Kelvie were my 4x Great grandparents, and John Looney and Margaret Hutchen were therefore my 3x great grandparents. My descent from them is by way of Daniel Looney 1789 and Esther Christian.
