Re: John CORKILL & Mary Ann BREW

Hi Eric,

Many thanks for the Foxdale information, which sounds familiar - someone probably told me this before, but it had faded from my memory. I haven't received the Feb Journal yet.
It is good to have an answer for the baptisms.

Edward CORKILL 69 yrs Dreemskerry, Maughold, buried 19 Jan 1928.
[Under Edward in Brian's burials.] He was always known as Edward/Ned so his name varies in records.

His second wife Mary Jane is also there, under Corkhill.
Her burial: Mary Jane CORKHILL 49 yrs., Ramsey, 16 Feb 1920.

I think Brian had all the Maughold burials, so far as Tom Corteen had transcribed them.

James Edward [Ned] Corkill was bapt 22 May 1859 Maughold son of John Corkill 1816-1872 & Elinor Kelly from Lonan.
John Corkill & Elinor Kelly married Maughold 7 Feb 1837.

A current Corkill living in the IoM sent me a number of photos of Maughold MIs, and one is for James Edward Corkill of Sycamore Cottage, Maughold, d.17 July 1913 aged 62 years. His widow Frances Sarah Corkill d.4 June 1955 aged 94. Also James youngest son of the above who died at Boyer, Tasmania, 9 March 1952 aged 58 years. Also Edward eldest son of the above, who d. at Liverpool 20 June 1952 aged 63 yrs.

[Marriage 13 Jan 1887 James Edward CORKILL Full age Bachelor Labourer Maughold [father] James Corkill, Labourer, and
Frances Sarah CORTEEN Full age Spinster Maughold [father] William Corteen, Mason.]

There is also a photo of the MI of John and Ann Corkill who you mentioned. The grave stone is covered in lichen, but I can read that they were of Maughold Street Ramsey, and John died 21 Dec 18?? aged 76. Ann died
20 June 1904 aged 84.
Her burial has Anne CORKILL, 84,Taubman Street, Ramsey, 22 Jun 1904.
John's burial is probably John CORKILL 76 yrs., Ramsey buried 24 Dec 1893.
