Re: Glen of the Geese Bunch

Hi Donna
I just need to set this out to try and get it straight in my mind !!! I've been to look at Lib Assd and written copious notes and now re-reading them none of them tell me what I was hoping for.
The John Cain who married Isabel Cain [she was described as 'of Glion y y ' when she died in 1836] he died before 1836.
Their eldest son Thomas was the heir but the mother's goods etc were to go to other son Henry on her death.
1841 census shows Thos age 37 Yeoman living at Rhen Cullen
1840 Henry sells Cooil ny Binghey Ballaugh
1841 Henry living at Ballacurn Keill Ballaugh and died 1847
1851 Thomas age 47 Landed Proprietor property next to Kiondroughad
1853 Thomas died
1861 Jane age 56 widow farming 40 acres Rhen Cullen
1871 Jane age 66 widow farming 30 acres
1881 Jane Cain age 78 widow farming 3 acres at Rhen Cullen
I seems that Jane Cain has ?sold? ?given up? acres of land between 1861 and 1881.

In 1881 Lib Assd at Orristal Jane Cain wid 0.2.1 O1872 or 1892 [can't quite read]
Also written beneath her name = O1884 - N1890
Then beneath that = Thomas Cain 0.2.1 O1872
Below his name - O1889

in 1869 Lib Assd we have Elizabeth Cain in part of Intack 1 which is Glen of the Geese.
Yes that is one of the questions - who is she and where did she come from?
She was also there in 1858 lib assd 0.5.4 A1825 [or 1828]

Also not sure what happened to Thomas son of Thomas Cain and Jane Cannell in 1871 he was living with his mother described as farmer's son at Rhen Cullen age 33.

Time for coffee - the caffeine might help !!!!!!!!
