That has made things a bit clearer but unfortunately I still haven't managed to work out a connection although it must be there somewhere.

I know for sure that the areas on Woods nos 104 and 2 x 98 are in my Caine family - but although Woods gives the acreage of land it doesn't give the rent paid as shown in the 'lib' books. And I haven't yet got the knowledge to convert one to the other.

I have studied Frances' work on the Caines over and over but I'm still struggling. The work that has been done on Kk Michael and other parishes is fantastic and truly appreciated. And I would recommend the cd to anyone without reservation.

It would have been so very good if the John Caine who married Alice Cannell in 1768 had been the son of John Caine and Christian Cowley. But Alice's husband John was born 1733 and John and Christian's son must have been bapt around 1740 although record found.
