Frances, I know you are brilliant at all the historical facts but how & where did you get all this info - at the Manx museum ? This is the part of genealogy which I should now be getting to grips with in order to move further (but in a backwards direction). The Philip Croaghan I have died in Oct 1850 aged 65. He is buried in Arbory with his first wife Sophia nee King who died in 1820 & I think he then md a Catherine Clague in 1821 in Braddan. Nothing on a Jane Clague. I have only guess work on this Philip's parents - I found an Andrew Cr & a Margaret Corkhill but nothing verified. Maybe the Lonan Philip is another Croaghan but I can't find any other.
