Well - I was quite pop-eyed to read Nigel's info: re Great Uncle Frank. Had always understood, from my Mother, that he had drowned, as I intimated, when disaster struck the Manx fishing fleet. Mother must surely have quoted whatever her Mother told her, so just don't know how or where such a muddle occured.

Am wondering if this explains picture of unknown sailing ship in aforementioned album, 'cos it certainly isn't a fishing boat, and had previously thought maybe she was a ship which some intrepid souls had emigrated on to USA / SA etc: .
