Was so pleased to find your responce to my message, re: my Manx ancestry when opening my computer this morning. Yes, would be delighted to send any info: I can, for you to add to your Family Tree.

You are quite right, my grandmother Agnes was married twice. She must have been quite a girl, for apparantly she eloped with William Cannell at the age of 17, hotly pursued on horseback by an irate Father and brothers , who arrived in Douglas just in time to see the ship for Liverpool heading out across the bay, with the young couple on board. Sadly their happiness was short lived, for William had TB, and Granny was widowed by the time she was 20.

Eventually, in her early thirties, she met and married my Grandfather, William Walker. They lived most of their married life in Liverpool, until their daughter married a Farmer and came to live in Wirral, and they also came, to live the latter years of their lives in Willaston.

I have three large and rather ancient photograph albums full of early photos of Manx relations, some of whom I know , while others I don't. One photo which intrigues me is of two young men in the uniform of the south, in the American civil war. It was once suggested to me that some decendants of the Corjeag's, now known as Cavendish, had settled in America.

Have also had a responce from one of my unknown Crowe cousins, so will reply to him as well eventually, so "Watch This Space", and will send snippets of history to you both in time.
