Re: Manx Y-DNA Project
In Response To: Re: Manx Y-DNA Project ()

Dear Katy,

Just couldn't sleep and checked my e-mails, been at the hospital for days off and on with my dear brother who is critically ill.

I think your suggestion was quite nice, and I want you to know, if you knew the Cain/e's as I do, they would want what is best for the entire family from WILLIAM TO EACH ONE OF US.........

ADAM, if we go by our genetic characters, would want to be exhumed, we are a family of HAVE TO KNOW, not what, MIGHT BE.
ADAM CAINE was where our PATRICK began, you must realize, that the DNA is the only way to find many things,as disesases, and through the line here, we know all the way back to PATRICK, but ADAM and on back we do not know. As, stated, a study of individual MANX families would be most helpful and index of families and their disesases and DNA,on the Isle, for each generation to be able to look back on FOR MANY THINGS, BUT ESPECIALLY, DISEASES. Medical records go back a long way here, even to the Revoluntionary War, and verbal accounts of diseases passed down aslo and BIBLE records of how one died and newspaper obituaries, death certificates, whereas on the Isle PARISH records did tell of how they died, some perished at sea, some died at great ages, some died in childbearing, but the disease element is not always there. CONSUMPTION is a terminology many old medical records use, and most of the time that could have meant many things. As stated, the DNA WOULD ESTABLISH WHAT SOME DOUBT, THAT I AM A MANX DESCENDANT, it is a most terrible feeling to have ones' credentials looked upon as a fairy tale and still we have not the one source of the beginning, the BIBLE, which is still being searched for. The family BIBLE had that PATRICK AND ALICE, came from the ISLE OF MAN, this was passed down by the BIBLE and we began research of those roots and they have been refuted many times on this board, tis ashame that it may take such a drastic measure to receive the data to qualify me as a bonified MANX DESCENDANT. I know I am and PATRICK AND ALICE ARE BURIED HERE, but I feel like when someone states against my heritage that I am not whom I am, that makes one feel awful. I feel as though someone has slapped me in the face.

The only way to find the truth is go to the truth, DNA, so ADAM WOULD BE PROUD I believe to have his bones exhumed, and I feel like he would be more than happy to have his bones see the light of day again.

I would like to know, for by nature of our character here, we have to prove that something is the truth, you must show me by a physical detail or paper document, and most of the family members living, are the same way.

It was kind of you to write back, and I do thank you.

Respectfully yours,

Mrs. Rosa
