Re: Philip Cain
In Response To: Re: Philip Cain ()

Dear Sir,

I am quite sure OUR PHILIP died in Infancy, our record states he was born July 17, 1712. We had his death, Ms. Coakley gave us how he died by smallpox. He died in infancy.

Our records had our ADAM CAIN married to a an ANNE CORLETT, WHICH MS. COAKLEY HAS OUR ADAM CAIN MARRIED TO AN ELINOR ( STOEN) STEPHEN, which produced the twins, PATRICK AND PHILIP. PATRICK CAME TO AMERICA WITH HIS SISTER ALCE CAIN. Whereby under Ms. Coakley findings there would have not been a sister, who came to AMERICA, my oldest cousn who is 91 years old states that our findings ARE right and yet I must also state that PATRICK was listed as a son and was the executor of ANNE CORLETT'S WILL, so it is both sides we are still researching AGAIN for our data was given off the ISLE AND BY A FAMILY BIBLE.

Our records state that Adam Cain was born March 15, 1669 in KK Michael Parish (baptismal date) , he was the son of JOHN CAIN.

Our records state he married ANNE CORLETT, she was the daughter of THOMAS CORLETT.
ANNE CORLETT, our ANNE, was born October 2, 1681 in KK BALLAUGH PARISH, Died, September, 12, 1738 in KK MICHAEL PARISH.

CHILDREN OF ADAM CAIN AND ANNE CORLETT, WERE;

1. JOHN CAIN, born February 27, 1703 in KK MICHAEL PARISH, married ANN CARRAN May 29, 1731 in KK PATRICK.

2. Margaret Cain born November 14, 1709 in KK BALLAUGH PARISH, married JOHN QUGGIN, October 6, 1737 KK GERMAN.

3 . PATRICK CAIN born July 17, 1712 in KK BALLAUGH PARISH, (baptismal date) died in 1799 in BARNWELL DISTRICT , SOUTH CAROLINA, AMERICA. Married ELINOR CLARKE, February 11, 1736 in KK BALLAUGH PARISH.

4. PHILIP CAIN born July 17, 1712 in KK BALLAUGH PARISH, (baptismal date) died in INFANCY, of small pox, TWIN OF PATRICK.

5. ELINOR CAIN born March 25, 1713 in KK MICHAEL PARISH

6. JONEY CAIN born in 1715, we do not know much about Joney at all, her marriage if she married or her death.

GENERATION 9

WILLIAM CAIN - born in 1600 in KK MICHAEL PARISH, based on OFFICIAL PARISH RECORDS, WILLIAM CAIN IS THE PROGENITOR OF THE CAINE(e) LINE FROM THE ISLE OF MAN.

The name is GAELIC AND IS FROM GAELIC McCATHAIN, OR O'CATHAIN THE SON( or GRANDSON) OF THE WARRIOR, and the name is an ULSTER GAELIC NAME. There have been CAINS ON THE ISLAND SINCE THE EARLY MIDDLE AGES.

UNDER our findings these are our records, under Ms. COAKELY, PHILIP AND PATRICK WERE OFF ELINOR (STOEN) STEPHEN we are still researching this finding , for our records came from off the Isle and also from a family BIBLE, it is very conflicting, so when I arrive in APRIL I hope all this conflict can be made sense of, MY PATRICK DIED AT SLAUGHTERFIELD IN THE REVOLUNTIONARY WAR WHO PRODUCED MY JOHN CAIN WHO PRODUCED DOLLIN CAIN, WHO PRODUCED NATHANIEL CAIN, WHO PRODUCED MY GRANDMOTHER, NANCY ANN ALIJIFAIR CAIN, WHO PRODUCED MY FATHER, JOHN(CAIN)GRUBBS, WHO PRODUCED, JONNIE RUTH (CAIN)GRUBBS.

I do not see the connection on your line, but with so much conflict you can never be sure, for in honesty data on lineage can be given and still be wrong, so I at this point am willing to say that we have many on the Isle who have kinsmen of MANX descendants of an unknown origin and I believe that the CAINS AND CORLETTS AND QUGGINS, QUAYLES , CARRANS, KELLEYS, O'CATHAIN, McCATHAIN, ETC, ETC, ETC, ETC, ECT, ARE SO MANY THAT THEY HAD TO INTERMARRY, I HAVE RESEARCHED many years, many years, and it was where cousins, perhaps second, married one another, I am weary of this line, it has caused me much money and headaches, but I CONTINUE ON, I am now looking at the STEPHEN SIDE , that Ms. COAKLEY had given to us, to see if ADAM CAIN, our ADAM CAIN married twice and ELINOR STEPHEN died and perhaps ADAM MARRIED the second time ANNE CORLETT and PATRICK was as a son to her , so dear, that she accepted him as her own and when ADAM DIED that she made PATRICK the son of the previous marriage her executor, but Ms. COAKLEY states that this would not be so, for the child would not be by law be able to receive that position or heirship, so it is very confusing when all these years you have believed by documents what you have and then have it disputed, but records are paper trails, whether they are set down right on the paper is where the confusion comes in. I am almost to the point, to accept I am a MANX DESCENDANT and I am honored and by my line I have found a member of the family and leave it at that and just enjoy the Isle when I come and go to where the documents say they loved, lived, made a living, had children, worshipped and one or two by our records came to AMERICA and I descended from that PATRICK and I shall leave it at that perhaps, for the CAINS are a peculiar people, they have eluded me for years. They will tease you into what they want you to know and then dash you against the boulders at sea to wash away all findings, my grandmother was strict and staunch and told very little, the BIBLE was the only way we find out that we were descendants off the Isle of MAN, she kept many secrets to the grave as many CAIN women do. They do not marry, many were and are spinsters, they marry their education. Well, enough, I weary and it is 5:26 a.m. here in USA and I woke at 4:00 a.m. and decided to address your e-mail, somehow I always manage to write a book, not a good thing always, do take care and if you are in our line, welcome, I dare say I do not hope that in this late day of the year 2010, MUST I PAY MY ANCESTORS( if indeed you are in our line) DEBT OWED, just a pun. Do take care and hope you find your line of CAIN connection.

Kindly yours,

Mrs.Jonnie Rosa
