Re: Clucas family Isle of Man
In Response To: Re: Clucas family Isle of Man ()

Does your Clucas family of Patrick include William Clucas who married Margaret Leece? They had a large family including William Clucas chr. 14 March, 1790 Patrick and their youngest child. Leece Clucas who was discussed a few months ago on this message board.

I am looking for a William Clucas junior of Patrick who had an illegitimate son, William Clucas chr. Sept. 9, 1812 Arbory, mother Joney or Judy Christian. Information on the father of William Clucas chr. 1812 was from the presentments.

Leece Clucas was an IOM constable as was his son Leece Clucas (later a sergeant). William Clucas chr. 1812 was a constable in Castletown as was his son William Thomas Clucas for a short time (later a saddler).

Using the theory that birds of a feather flock together (as policemen), I have considered that the possibility that Leece Clucas and William Clucas (chr. 1813) were related and his father being William Clucas chr. 1790 and therefore brother of Leece Clucas, but have no proof.

I wonder whether there are any other William Clucases, son of a William of Patrick that might be candidates for being the father of William
Clucas chr. 1812 Arbory?

I would love to get a copy of the KK Patrick Clucas history.
