Re: joke replies

I think we should thank Yisser for raising a serious issue - is there any truth in the rumour or not? There may be evidence for this in Yisser's ancestry, but I have found none in mine as far as records show.

I have about 3,000 names linked into my family tree, about half of whom are Manx-born, a fair number of English, Welsh, Irish and Scottish ancestors and the rest around the world of Manx descent. My family has its share of 'cases' that relieve the boredom of a tree full of law-abiding, moral people like us (presumably) - there are family members in prison, some deported, tragic deaths, illegitimate births, adulterous offsprings, disputes over land and property, sudden moonlit flits and even a rumour of an ancestor who was hung as a highwayman in Lancashire (unfortunately I have not been able to prove this yet) .... but I have not come across any evidence of incestuous relationships.

It was not a particularly funny joke anyway, Yisser - perhaps you would do better with the old standby about the new leisure centre.
