The annual meeting of this club held at the Douglas Grammar school was reported in the Isle of Man Examiner of 26 April 1890. The Lieutenant- Governor, Spencer Walpole, was re elected president, and the list of vice-presidents, committee and members contained many eminent Douglas persons from a variety of activities, including W. Newby, a keen Association footballer who had played for Stoke City before coming to the Island and later held, in turn, the posts of President, Secretary and Treasurer of the Isle of Man Football Association.
The Club which obtained a permanent ground at Pulrose in 1895 played many fixtures with British clubs. The 1890 fixtures included Leicester (Mantowe), Crewe (Alexandra), Chorlton-cum-Hardy, Halliwell, Chorlton Revellers, Egremont, Ulster, Liverpool Licensed Victuallers, Oldham Corporation, Risedale, &c..

This attempt at the foudation of a Douglas Cricket club was more successful than the earlier one of 1861.
