Re: Location of Teare property Creggan Raughe Guan

Hmm, curious. I have the Deed from my Teare ancestors to John Callow in 1826. I know John Callow visited Ohio and the emigrated to America early on - maybe even 1830's but I don't have an exact date. Maybe he sold to brother Daniel Callow? Didn't see a transaction in NSS, though. Woods states John as owner later on - is Woods in error? At any rate, the size is exactly the same and I think "Ballathoney" in 1841 Tithe CB is likely an alternate spelling for Ballathona, which is next door to said parcel (owned by John Callow Sr.). Deed says the land was "located in the Quarter Land of The Balemore", so all would seem to suggest that these are the parcels. Will spend more time trying to nail down the property next to the coast as the two by the "Kings Highway" seem clear.

Too bad there doesn't seem to be anything material left from the 1801-1826 time period to visit.

Thanks Frances,
Lyle
