Re: More Andreas records
In Response To: Re: More Andreas records ()

Hi Sue,

Thanks for your thoughts; much appreciated!

I think there are several Philip Tears in the same proximity in Andreas around the same time. Agree that "Bignal" Philip Tears (father/son) don't fit my Philip Teare (1710-1784). In fact, the Philip Tear who held land in treen in Ballahestine in 1750 & 1760 seem to be the "Bignal" Tears, as noted in the Lib Assesd 1760-63 in the Crowe/Dugdage comparison work. The italicized notes indicate they lived in Larebane, which is in the treen of Ballahestine area, right?

So, my Philip Teare and wife Alice don't show up in either the 1757 Census or the Lib Assesd 1760-1763. Yes, the family might be on Dad's farm or living outside Andreas. I'll check other parishes.

Otherwise, I'll order the FHC microfilm and hope that there is more info in his will than is in the transcription.

Thanks again!
Lyle
