Re: More Andreas records
In Response To: More Andreas records ()

This is great, thanks Sue! Yes, I've seen the transcripts on Frances' site. But I have not seen the comparison yet. Thanks for the tip, I appreciate it!

Still weeding through to make sure that all the data corroborates. For example, there is a Philip Tear (1710-1784) who fits nicely as my direct descendent, but he was married to an Alice Curghy. This states:

Phillip,Tear: BALLAHESTINE 3 Larebane 2.

I assume this says that a Philip Teare was at Ballahestine in 1761. What is Larebane? Do the numbers represent people present? The comparison work by Dugdale has a similar listing (74 & 75) with a different spouse that what I'd expected. Maybe remarried? It comments they are "of Teare Bignal family". Does Bignal mean anything to anyone to put a name to this branch? (There are so many!)

For the first time the connection to Ballakinnag is relatively straight forward!

Frances was kind enough to send me a tip earlier that a Philip Tear lived at Ballahestine in 1750 and there is a note of ownership change from him in Oct 1761. Seems consistent, if same Philip Tear(e). BTW, Frances - do I need to look at FHC microfilm to find the data you referred to above? Couldn't find it on via Lib Vas on CD .... Thanks! :-)

Again, appreciate everyone's thoughts! It all helps as I build out and reference my tree!
