Thanks Frances. I just found in your Manx notebook a 1736 will for a Jane Corkill als Crane with her children listed as John and Peter. No husband was listed. We know that there are baptism records to a father named William Corkill for a William in 1710 (mother now expected to be Margaret Lewney d. 1710), Peter (b. 1713) and John (b. 1716). Perhaps then, Jane Crane is William Corkill's second wife, and John & Peter are his son William's half brothers.
