I've mentioned this on the board a few times before - sorry can't remember whether it was on one of the threads in which you were involved - that several members of this Braddan Corkill family moved to Maughold in the early 1700s, still naming their offspring Peter with the occasional Dorothy.

1705 Braddan will for Margaret CORKILL als CORLETT d. 1705, the mother of the first Maughold Peter Corkill.
Married Wm Corkill. His will: CORKIL, William 1700 Bra A w 0106208

Their children in Margaret's will are: Sons Patrick, John, William, Thomas, daur Dorothy, son Peter’s two girls (who were Margaret & Ann b. Braddan 1701). Peter d.1741

1741 will notes: Peter Corkill of Ballafaile Maughold, grandson Peter Corkill, son Peter Corkill, daur Ann, son-in-law William Christian, son Thomas, daur Jane Quillage (Quillease) als Corkill & his daur Dorothy Quillage (Quillease).

Wife Joney QUIRK alive October 1742 (contract). Joney CORKILL als QUIRK buried Maughold May 8 1753.

There was also another Peter Corkill in Maughold d.1822, assumed to have come from the same Braddan family. He married Jane Corkill, eldest daughter of the Maughold Ballagorry Mooar family, on 6 Oct.1771. Their two children were Peter (b.1772) and John (b.1774).
