Re: William Cowle & Ellen Brew (Santon)

Thank you again.

I think I have it but just to be sure

Christopher Brew is married to Ann Curmine and they have a son Christopher who marries Magt Kemott as per the 1609 contract.

Christopher Carrally is married to Mally Kennish and they have Thomas and Margaret

Around 1615 both Ann Curmine and Christopher Carrally are deceased and Christopher Brew (the widower of Anne Curmine) marries Mally Carrally als Kennish.

The Christopher Brew who dies in 1628 or 1629 is the above so the "wife of old Christopher Brew" referred to by Cosnahan is Mally Brew als Carrally als Kennish. The letter is saying that the land at Ars Drogan should pass to my son Thomas Carrally along with Christopher Brew the younger, rather than just to Christopher Brew the younger. Presumably this is successful as in 1629 when Thomas Carrally dies we have his sister Margaret (Carrally) and her husband John Bridson entered. Also they are recorded in 1643.

You have summarised wills on MNB for John Bridson (1663) and Margaret Bridson als Carralaugh (1671) and Ars Drogan comes forward as Rogane Moar.

Am I reading it correctly

Thanks

Carol
