suspect you will need to go back to c. 1620 when I think a Christopher Brew (father of Christopher Brew - the heir) saw his lands somewhat divided amongst his sons - Christopher the younger sold part to brother Thomas (who had a son Thomas whom he entered for the land in 1655 (in 1623-1655 book) - the younger son Arthur obtained some land - but eventually this seemed to be bought back by Christopher - so far I've not met Gilbt but possibly a son of Xpher or of Thomas ? - there seemed to be a lot of Brews around this part of Santan and I've only just started on the 1623 to 1655 book (+ I noticed I'd never finished the 1690's in the following book) - I some photos pre 1623 but some of the hands can be rather tricky to read - suspect the 1629 Lib Canc and the will for Robt will help - often if an heiress is concerned to a fair ammount of land the husband is often some relation on the maternal side.
