Re: Ballaskyrr William Caine in Warrensville, Ohio
In Response To: Re: Ballaskyrr ()

I am wondering if the identiication of William Caine (who died in Warrensville, Ohio -- near Cleveland -- November 30, 1837 age 32) as the son of John Cain and Elizabeth Cain, christened at Kk Michael May 18, 1786, still holds.

He married, at Kk Michael, February 25, 1806, Christian Caine, whom Donna identified, some years ago, as the daughter of William Caine and Ann Garrett, christianed at Kk Michael, January 9, 1785. She died at Warrensville, July 30, 1858.

Here is the first generation of what I have about William and Christian:

William Cain, son of John and Elizabeth (Cain) Cain, was christened at Kk Michael, May 18, 1786. He died, probably in Warrensville, November 30, 1837, age 52. Children of Christian Caine and William Cain, christened at Kk Michael:

i. John Cain was christened December 7, 1806, died 1890. He married, at Kk Andreas, June 8, 1848, Eliza Radcliffe. She died 1898. John remained on the Isle of Man, and inherited the family farm, Ballaskyr.

ii. Ann Cain was christened April 3, 1809. Is she the Ann Cain buried at Kk Michael, June 20, 1817?

iii. William Cain was christened October 27, 1811. Died young?

+ iv. Thomas Cain was christened June 24, 1813. He married, at Braddan, June 12, 1838, Margaret Catherine Quiggin.

+ v. Elizabeth “Betsey” Cain was christened July 23, 1815. She is the "Eliza" age 11, who immigrated with her mother in 1827. She married, in Warrensville, January 17, 1836, Havilla M. Curtis. According to Women of the Western Reserve, she returned to the Isle of Man. Havilla and Betsy Curtis moved to Stark County before the 1840 census.
